Transportation Manager

About PSC Transportation:

The backbone to our company is the transportation department, which moves equipment from shop to shop, from customer to shop, from shop to customer, and from one customer location to another as a service. The success of our transportation department lies in efficient scheduling, resource minimization, exceeding customer expectations, and saying yes when others choose to say no. Our transportation department does not handle freight or any other component of transportation except picking up and delivering equipment. PSC runs almost 24 hours a day and has a variety of shifts and levels of experience to accomplish the tasks at hand. We have a multitude of equipment at our disposal, including semi tractors, semi-trailers, non CDL trucks, bumper pull trailers, and more. This is a fun and challenging environment and an ideal opportunity for a process-driven manager to flourish.

This position gives you the opportunity to:

  • Manage the internal and external operations of the transportation department.
  • Confer and cooperate with other management in formulating/improving operational policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to the development of a production process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
  • Review and analyze financial reports.
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers.
  • Develop business relationships and generate new sales.
  • Promote and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Motivate, coach, and mentor transportation staff.
  • Manage and maintain company fleet.

To qualify you must have:

  • 5 years of experience; Associate’s degree from a two year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting software; web-based database software; Microsoft Office; Paylocity or similar payroll system
  • Valid Driver's License strongly preferred (CDL is a plus)
  • Knowledge of fleet repair industry

Compensation:  $55,000 - $65,000 annually.  This is a full-time, exempt position.
